Starting November 29, 2016, all U.S. visa holders with an unrestricted, maximum validity (normally 10-year validity) B1, B2, or combination B1/B2 visas issued to PRC passport holders must be enrolled in a valid Electronic Visa Update System (EVUS) to travel to the United States. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) anticipates launching the EVUS platform for early enrollments in mid-October in China.

The U.S. Embassy will be providing a briefing to AmCham members on the Electronic Visa Update System (EVUS) platform and relevant issues. The head briefing will come from Christine Parker, visiting from the Bureau of Consular Affairs in Washington. She is visiting the U.S. Mission in China to help with EVUS promotion in advance of its rollout.
