Quiz Contest on China’s New Visa Law (Enter by Sept. 27)

QuizHere’s a multiple-choice question:

Why haven’t you entered the Beijing Public Security Bureau quiz contest on China’s new Exit-Entry Administration Law yet?

 A. You’re annoyed that the rules say there will be “5 first prizes, 20 second prizes, 50 third prizes, and 100 consolation prizes” but don’t say what the prizes are. Doh!
 B.  You’ve forgotten how to lick a stamp to mail in your entry.
 C.  You need some hints.

Well, we think you should enter in the spirit of creating a “harmonious” capital city anyway. In fact, we’ll mail in your entry for you if you fill in the below quiz form by Sept. 27. And we’ve added some hints at the bottom of the page.

If you want to quibble about the answers or make snide remarks, save it for the comments section.

  2. Question 3. What is the purpose of the law?

I thought the purpose was to strike hard at the “3 illegals”: illegal entry, work, and overstay. Or is it just me who feels like I’ve got a target on my back?

  3. I’ve been in China with an F business visa for 5 years, uh, “freelancing.” I’m wondering–if I get all the answers right, could I win a residence permit? I’m sick of visa runs to Hong Kong.
