Kudos to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) for posting international offices’ case processing times online starting this week. This includes processing times for Forms I-130, Petitions for Alien Relatives, filed at the Beijing and Guangzhou Field Offices.
Beijing shows 1.9 months on average, and Guangzhou shows under 1 month on average, to process an I-130 from the time of filing until adjudication.
Once the I-130 is approved, it is forwarded to the U.S. Consulate in Guangzhou or third-country consular post designated by the petitioner. The beneficiary of the I-130 applies for an immigrant visa at the consulate.
It will be a victory for transparency if USCIS updates the posted processing times on a regular basis.
